After more than five decades of waiting, New Yorkers are finally getting their championship celebration.
The New York Knicks ended a 53-year title drought on June 13, bringing home the NBA championship and setting the stage for one of the biggest victory parties the city has seen in years. Today, fans are expected to flood Lower Manhattan for the team’s ticker-tape parade, transforming the streets into a sea of orange-and-blue pride.
As the city gears up to honor the Knicks’ historic run, restaurants, bars, and national chains are joining the festivities with special discounts, freebies, and game-day-inspired menu offers. For many fans, the parade is not just about celebrating a championship. It’s an all-day citywide party complete with food, drinks, and deals.
The iconic New York ticker-tape parade tradition dates back more than a century and remains one of the city’s most recognizable forms of celebration. During the event, confetti-like paper is showered from office buildings lining the parade route. Despite the Knicks’ signature colors, spectators should not expect orange and blue paper filling the sky. Instead, thousands of pounds of white paper strips will flutter down on cheering crowds as the city pays tribute to its new champions.
With hundreds of thousands of fans expected to attend, businesses across New York are seizing the moment to welcome revelers looking to eat, drink, and celebrate the Knicks’ long-awaited return to the top of the NBA.
The celebration is expected to stretch far beyond the Canyon of Heroes.

City officials say roughly 1.25 tons of ticker tape will rain down on the parade route as millions of fans gather to celebrate the Knicks’ long-awaited championship. Once the confetti settles, the festivities will continue at City Hall Plaza, where Mayor Zohran Mamdani is scheduled to present the team with the Key to the City.
And because no New York celebration is complete without food, restaurants and dessert shops across the five boroughs are rolling out special promotions, limited-time menu items and freebies for Knicks fans.
On the Upper East Side, the iconic dessert destination Serendipity 3 is offering 50% off desserts for customers dressed in orange and blue. The restaurant is even putting a Knicks-themed spin on its signature Frrrozen Hot Chocolate.
“If you didn’t spend $50k on Knicks tickets, then get the freakin Knicks Frrrozen Hot Chocolate,” the restaurant announced on Instagram.
Known for its oversized presentation, the drink combines 14 varieties of cocoa and arrives topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. For the championship celebration, the dessert will also feature orange-and-blue sprinkles and a Knicks sticker.
Ice cream chain Van Leeuwen is joining the festivities with $3 scoops until 3 p.m. on parade day at locations across the New York metropolitan area, including stores in Connecticut and New Jersey. Additional toppings and extra scoops remain at regular prices.
Carvel is marking the franchise’s 53-year championship wait with a specially priced orange shake. Participating locations across New York and New Jersey will offer the Small Ticker-Tape Orange Shake for $1.53 on parade day. The drink gets its bright Knicks-inspired color from a blend that includes Fanta, though availability may vary by location.

Pizza lovers can also get in on the action. East Village Pizza is selling its classic cheese slice for just 53 cents between noon and 3 p.m. Customers must show the promotion’s Instagram post at the counter to redeem the deal. The discount honors the Knicks’ first title in more than five decades.
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is taking a digital-first approach. Customers who place an order of $10 or more through the company’s app can receive a free five-piece order of Wagyu Dumplings by using the code KNICKSCHAMPS. The promotion runs throughout the week at participating New York City-area locations.

The deal expires after Thursday’s parade.
For fans heading downtown after the festivities, Brooklyn Chop House is offering a limited-edition Knicks souvenir. Every reservation beginning at noon on parade day will receive a Knicks x Brooklyn Chop House T-shirt while supplies last.
“Join us Thursday starting at Noon until 6 p.m. at Brooklyn Chop House Downtown, directly across from City Hall, for the ultimate Knicks celebration right after the parade,” the brand wrote on Instagram.
Another New York institution is also getting involved. Gray’s Papaya, famous for its hot dogs and tropical drinks, plans to hand out hundreds of free hot dogs following the parade.
“SURPRISE! In celebration of the Knicks ending their 53-year championship drought, we will be giving away 350 hot dogs for FREE following the ticker-tape parade (06/18). More details to come later in the week.”
From discounted desserts and ice cream to free donuts, dumplings and hot dogs, businesses across the city are turning Knicks championship day into a citywide feast. For fans celebrating a title generation in the making, the food deals may be almost as sweet as the trophy itself.
