Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has unveiled a sweeping 10-point policy agenda for Ohio, outlining his priorities ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election and promising major tax cuts, lower living costs and tougher law enforcement if elected.
In a post shared on June 27 on X, the entrepreneur and former Republican presidential candidate summarized the platform he said would define his administration beginning in 2027.
“10 Things I’ll Do for Ohio,” Ramaswamy wrote, before listing a series of campaign commitments focused on taxes, education, healthcare, jobs and public safety.
At the top of the list were proposals to slash property taxes and abolish Ohio’s state income tax, two measures aimed at reducing the tax burden on residents and businesses. Ramaswamy also pledged to lower electricity bills and reduce healthcare costs, though he did not provide policy details in the social media post explaining how those objectives would be achieved.

Healthcare oversight also featured prominently in his agenda. He vowed to prosecute Medicaid fraud, arguing that stronger enforcement would improve accountability within the state’s public healthcare system.
Education reforms formed another key pillar of the proposal. Ramaswamy said he would bring “higher standards” to Ohio’s schools and promote civic education by teaching students to be proud of both Ohio and the United States.
Economic development was another central focus. He promised to bring more high-paying jobs back to Ohio as part of a broader effort to strengthen the state’s economy and expand employment opportunities. Public safety also featured heavily in the plan. Ramaswamy pledged to crack down on crime in Ohio’s cities and said human traffickers would face aggressive prosecution under his administration.
“Put human traffickers in prison where they belong,” he wrote.

The agenda concluded with a promise that the proposals would become reality “Coming in 2027,” referring to the start of the next gubernatorial term. The social media post did not include additional policy specifics, implementation timelines or legislative proposals associated with the campaign promises.
Ramaswamy, an Ohio native and biotech entrepreneur, formally entered the Ohio governor’s race earlier this year after ending his 2024 presidential campaign. Since launching his gubernatorial bid, he has focused much of his campaign on tax reform, economic competitiveness, education and reducing government spending.
Ohio voters are scheduled to elect a new governor in November 2026, with the winner taking office in January 2027.
