Energy infrastructure major Archrock Inc. has appointed veteran Indian American energy executive Mohit Singh as its new senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective July 6.
Singh succeeds Douglas S. Aron, who is retiring from the Houston-based natural gas compression services firm. The corporate transition arrives as Archrock positions itself for its next phase of growth amid expanding marketplace demands for natural gas infrastructure.
Singh joins the company with a professional record spanning more than 25 years across the energy value chain, corporate finance, and investment banking.
Singh’s career is anchored by an elite educational foundation that began in India. He earned a Bachelor of Technology in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1997.

After moving to the United States, he balanced his academic transitions to earn a doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Houston in 2001, followed by a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008.
Throughout his professional life, Singh has successfully bridged the gap between complex engineering operations and high-level corporate finance.
He most recently served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Chesapeake Energy Corp. from 2021 through its 2024 merger with Southwestern Energy Co., which established Expand Energy Corp. He then continued to guide the combined enterprise as its financial chief until August 2025.
Before his leadership tenure at Chesapeake, Singh spent six years on the executive team at BPX Energy, the domestic onshore subsidiary of BP. While there, he led mergers and acquisitions, exploration portfolios, and business development initiatives, eventually serving as senior vice president of the North Business Unit.

His versatile professional background also includes prominent Wall Street experience, having worked in investment banking roles focused on oil and gas transactions for both Goldman Sachs and RBC Capital Markets, after beginning his career as a reservoir and research engineer with Shell Exploration & Production Co. Additionally, he has lent his expertise to the broader industrial sector as an independent director of Powell Industries since 2024.
Archrock President and Chief Executive Officer Brad Childers welcomed the incoming financial chief, appreciating the strategic perspective he brings to the administrative team. Childers noted that Singh’s extensive public company experience and market familiarity will be invaluable to the board as the company scales its operations.
Expressing optimism about his new role, Singh pointed to Archrock’s current momentum and disciplined operational model, stating that he looks forward to executing the firm’s strategic priorities and delivering long-term value to shareholders.
