A number of Indian Americans featured on the list of the richest people in the world this year. Venture capital founder Vinod Khosla is currently the richest Indian American, while many others like Jay Chaudhry, Jayshree Ullal, and Rakesh Gangwal have taken up top spots in the list.
Here are some of the richest Indian Americans according to Forbes 2026 billionaire’s list.
- Vinod Khosla: Vinod Khosla, the founder and managing director of venture capital firm Khosla Ventures has a current net worth of $13.8 billion. Khosla Ventures invests in experimental technologies such as biomedicine, robotics, and was the first venture firm to invest in OpenAI.
Khosla had also cofounded computer hardware firm Sun Microsystems in 1982 and spent 18 years at venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins before launching his own fund. Khosla is also ranked No. 1 on the 2026 Midas List, which tracks top venture capitalists.

2. Jay Chaudhry: Jay Chaudhry, the founder and CEO of cybersecurity firm Zscaler has a current net worth of $8.4 billion. Zscaler went public in March 2018. Before Zscaler, Chaudhry founded four other tech companies that were all acquired: SecureIT, CoreHarbor, CipherTrust and AirDefense.
3. Jayshree Ullal: Jayshree Ullal, the president and CEO of computer networking firm Arista Networks, has a current net worth of $7.2 billion. She is also on the board of directors of Snowflake, a cloud computing company that went public in 2020. Ullal also ranks seventh in the list of the richest self-made women in the U.S.
4. Baiju Bhatt: Baiju Bhatt is the cofounder of no-fee stock trading app Robinhood. He was co-CEO of Robinhood until late 2020, then chief creative officer. In March 2024, Bhatt stepped down from the position. However, he remains a board member. Bhatt currently has a net worth of $6.7 billion.
5. Rakesh Gangwal: Rakesh Gangwal is the cofounder of IndiGo airlines, and currently worth $5.7 billion. Gangwal started his airline career with United Airlines in 1984 and went on to run US Airways Group as its chief executive and chairman. He resigned from the company’s board in 2022 and was named chairman of Southwest Airlines in November 2024. He resigned from that role in August 2025 but remains on the board.
6. Romesh Wadhwani: Romesh Wadhwani is chairman of Symphony AI, an enterprise AI firm with operations in retail, financial services and manufacturing that he founded in 2017. He has a net worth of $5.5 billion. Wadhwani is also chairman of ConcertAI, an AI company focused on healthcare and life sciences.

7. Kavitark Ram Shriram: Kavitark Shriram, who has a current net worth of $4 billion is a founding board member and one of the first investors in Google. His portfolio includes online invitation service Paperless Post, online HR service provider Gusto and mobile advertising company InMobi.
8. Sanjit Biswas: Sanjit Biswas is the cofounder of Samsara, a platform that uses AI-powered tools to help companies, such as transportation and construction businesses, increase efficiency and improve safety. He had also cofounded the cloud networking company Meraki, which was sold to Cisco in 2012 for $1.2 billion. He has a net worth of $4.3 billion.
9. Rajiv Jain: Rajiv Jain, the founder, chairman and chief investment officer of Fort Lauderdale-based asset management firm GQG Partners. He has a current net worth of $3.9 billion. Jain cofounded GQG with Tim Carver, the firm’s CEO, in 2016; they took it public on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2021.
10. Hemant Taneja: Hemant Taneja is the CEO of General Catalyst, a venture capital firm, and has a net worth of $3.6 billion. He was also an early backer of Stripe, Snap, Anduril, Grammarly and Gusto.
