Manish Srivastava, an Indian American professor of strategic management and innovation at Michigan Technological University has taken over as the associate dean of its College of Business.
Srivastava, who holds the David and Marilyn Bernard Endowed Professorship in Business, brings 18 years of experience at Michigan Tech and a record of leadership spanning graduate education, strategic planning, program development, accreditation, and faculty governance to the position, according to a Michigan Tech news release.
As associate dean, Srivastava works with College of Business Dean Sri Beldona to advance the College’s strategic priorities and provide leadership for graduate, certificate, and non-credit programs. His portfolio also includes academic policy, Association to Advance College Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation readiness, and expertise in other key areas of academic administration.

Beldona described Srivastava as “a highly respected colleague whose leadership, institutional knowledge, and commitment to excellence have already made a lasting impact on the College.” Srivastava said he’s grateful for the opportunity to serve the College in an expanded capacity “to contribute to its continued growth and success.”
Since 2019, Srivastava has served as associate director of the Tech MBA and Master of Engineering Management degree programs. In that role, he led the development of new graduate offerings, including accelerated Tech MBA and Master of Engineering Management degrees, expanded online learning opportunities, and contributed to recruitment, student success, curriculum, assessment, and accreditation.
Srivastava’s leadership at the College also encompasses strategic planning and shared governance. As chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, he collaborates with faculty, staff, and College leaders to align priorities, resources, and long-term objectives. He’s contributed to the College’s successful AACSB accreditation and ongoing improvement initiatives and has taken on leadership roles in faculty scholarship as well as tenure and promotion.

An expert in strategic management and technological innovation, Srivastava has published in leading journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Organization, and Journal of Management. He’s also served on the editorial boards of premier journals and held visiting positions at Virginia Tech, Umeå University in Sweden, and the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
As associate dean, Srivastava will draw on his experience to help strengthen the College’s academic portfolio, support organizational effectiveness, and pursue emerging opportunities for growth and engagement.
Srivastava earned his PhD in strategic management from Virginia Tech, an MBA from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur.
