The Indian diaspora and friends of India across Southern California are set to come together for the Viksit Bharat Run 2026 on Sept. 26, an event aimed at promoting community, unity and the vision of a developed India.
The run is being organized by the United Indian American Associations of Southern California (UIASC) in association with the Consulate General of India in Los Angeles.
The event will be held at Don Knabe Community Regional Park, 19700 Bloomfield Avenue, in Cerritos, California. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., with the run scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
Organizers are inviting members of the Indian American community, friends of India and other residents across Southern California to participate.
The Viksit Bharat Run is part of a broader initiative organized by Indian diplomatic missions and community organizations in different countries to bring Indian communities and friends of India together around the vision of Viksit Bharat.

The initiative also emphasizes fitness, community participation and the shared aspiration of contributing to India’s development journey.
The Los Angeles area previously hosted the Viksit Bharat Run in 2025. The Consulate General of India in Los Angeles organized the event at the same Don Knabe Community Regional Park in coordination with MY Bharat under India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The 2025 event drew more than 200 participants, including members of the Indian diaspora, students, professionals, community leaders and friends of India, according to India-West. Companion runs were also held in Irvine and Riverside.
The 2025 edition was held as part of Seva Pakhwada and featured the Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat pledges, with organizers linking the event to service, self-reliance, inclusivity and environmental responsibility.
The 2026 event is expected to provide another opportunity for Indian American organizations and community members in Southern California to connect through a public fitness and community gathering.

Registration is required for those wishing to participate. Organizers have encouraged prospective participants to register through the event’s registration link or by scanning the QR code included in the event announcement.
