Dr. Nandini Selvam has joined the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute as Affiliate Faculty.
The appointment formalizes a decade-long professional relationship with researchers at the institution, focusing on collaborative efforts in vaccine safety, regulatory science, and real-world health data analysis.
Alongside her academic post, Dr. Selvam serves as President of IQVIA Government Solutions, leading strategy and operations that support major civilian and military U.S. federal health agencies.
Her extensive career encompasses leadership positions across corporate, government, and academic sectors, specializing in epidemiology, public-private partnerships, and large-scale public health initiatives.

A proud member of the Indian-American community with strong cultural roots, Dr. Selvam built a rigorous academic foundation in the United States.
She is a graduate of Rutgers University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, a Master of Public Health in Urban Populations and Environmental Health, and a PhD in Epidemiology.
Her career in public health began as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she managed international epidemiological investigations.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Selvam led critical response initiatives for IQVIA, supporting both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the CDC by evaluating national-level data to shape tactical operational guidelines and policy.

Her expertise also extends to health information technology, where she spearheaded the creation of a virtual data environment for the Defense Health Agency to optimize surveillance and better serve the ongoing healthcare needs of military personnel.
She also contributes her expertise globally as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Alliance for Women’s Health Steering Committee and advises the Milken Institute Women’s Health Network.
Through her new appointment at Harvard, Dr. Selvam looks forward to expanding research partnerships, mentoring emerging public health professionals, and translating empirical data into evidence-based solutions that enhance population health outcomes.
