Far-right political activist Laura Loomer has warned that President Donald Trump’s remaining two years in office could be marked by political paralysis following Democrats’ victory in the Nov. 3 midterm elections, which gave the party control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
In a lengthy post on X, Loomer wrote that the Republican defeat had fundamentally changed the political landscape, leaving Trump with little room to govern. She criticized Trump’s willingness to work with Democrats, referring to his remarks in a Fox News interview following the election.
“Well, I say this: congratulations to the Democrats. They did a good job. They’ve been looking for this one for 11 years, and they finally got it. But I don’t view it as a hit on me,” Trump said.
Trump also indicated that he was willing to work with Democrats. “We’ll probably work something out,” he added, marking a departure from his earlier threats to veto Democratic-backed legislation.

Loomer argued that Democrats would use their congressional majorities to block Trump’s policies and pursue investigations into him and his family. She further claimed that if Trump attempted to veto legislation passed by Democrats, they would move to impeach and convict him. She also suggested that Republicans who were not fully aligned with the president could abandon him to protect their own political interests.
“Trump doesn’t have 2 years left. […] Democrats don’t want to work for the people. The only thing Democrats who were elected last night care about is flooding our country with an unlimited amount of illegal aliens and jailing President Trump and his family members,” she wrote.
Loomer went further, making unsubstantiated allegations that Democrats could orchestrate Trump’s assassination if he resisted their efforts. She claimed, without providing evidence, that “they already tried to do it in 2024,” and mentioned conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying Democrats “normalized the killing of Charlie Kirk too.”
According to Loomer, the next two years would see high living costs, fuel prices and crime rates. She also predicted that Democratic campaign promises on health care would go unfulfilled and accused the party of planning to open the country’s borders and “flood it with 50 million more illegal alien[s].”

“America is over,” Loomer declared toward the end of her post, describing the American dream as dead and warning that the country could face further political and economic instability.
Loomer’s post drew sharply divided responses. Several users challenged her assessment. One user wrote, “I love the panic. Let’s not forget. Trump still has 2yrs left. meaning republicans still have 2yrs to start working FOR the people and doing the shit they promised. Now’s the time for them to go into overdrive and make it about ‘We The People.’”
The Nov. 3 midterm elections included all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 of the Senate’s 100 seats and 36 gubernatorial races. According to the latest reported results, Democrats have secured 54 Senate seats, gaining seven in the election, and are leading in another. Republicans hold 44 seats, having lost seven, and are leading in one remaining race.
In the House, Democrats have won 228 seats and are leading in another 34, according to the latest results. Republicans have also lost traditionally Republican-held seats, including in Texas, as well as races involving candidates personally endorsed by Trump.
