MUMBAI: Sandeepa Dhar, who has appeared in the Salman Khan ‘Dabangg 2’ film, will play a cop herself, in the upcoming investigative thriller ‘ 7 Hours to go’ directed by Saurabh Varma.
Dhar’s career was launched by Rajshri Productions in the 2010 film ‘Isi Life Mein’. She was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer and Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow, for that role.

She has also done a cameo role in Dabangg 2, and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti.
“I wanted something different, more realistic and challenging,†said Dhar of her new role as a cop in ‘7 Hours to Go’. “It’s a very unique, challenging and different kind of movie. My role is different than anything I have done so far. The movie is an investigative thriller.â€
She added, of her character in the film: “From sweet girl to tough cop, who is very street smart, very tough, no-nonsense cop. She is strong willed modern girl, her thought process is very individualist, she doesn’t think twice before saying anything to anybody.â€
“I took a lot of physical training especially MMA mixed martial arts training, to get into physical mode. I spent entire day with cops, specially a lady cop to learn habits, body language, gesturing, slang, I mean everything. I traveled by local trains to get the realistic feel of their day, I wanted to learn how they spend their day, what is that they do, how they perform their duties, approach issues,†said Dhar.
“My role is different from Chulbul Pandey. I didn’t do any hud-hud dance moves, nor wore goggles backward, didn’t have mustache; he is a fun cop, whereas I am different flavor, even though I am a fan of Salman Khan and what he acts, it can’t be copied, so comparing me with him is silly†says Dhar.
