President Donald Trump praised Micron Technology’s plans for a $10 billion investment in the U.S., saying the move would help keep the country at the forefront of artificial intelligence and advanced computing.
“GREAT NEWS!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post, calling Micron one of the “HOTTEST” companies in the world. He said the company had announced a “MASSIVE 10 BILLION DOLLAR Investment in new Research Labs” in the U.S. and said the move would help keep the country at the “absolute forefront of A.I. and Advanced Computing.”
Trump also congratulated Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, calling him “fantastic,” and said, “The Golden Age of America is HERE.”

Trump also mentioned what he described as Micron’s previous “TREMENDOUS 250 BILLION DOLLAR commitment.” He said the combined investments would create “over tens of thousands of Great American Jobs” and added that the U.S. was bringing “Critical Technologies BACK to the U.S.A.” He attributed the investment to his administration’s policies, saying, “Because of our Great Policies, Companies are investing TRILLIONS.”
Recently, Micron said it would invest $10 billion over the next decade in a research institution focused on addressing challenges in the memory supply chain. Micron Research Labs builds on Micron’s technology and manufacturing leadership, bringing together customers, academia, government and the broader semiconductor ecosystem to pursue breakthroughs. Key research areas include critical memory technologies, advanced memory and compute architectures, packaging and future semiconductor manufacturing, according to a Micron media release.
As the first dedicated memory research hub of its kind in the U.S., Micron Research Labs will center on a flagship Boise campus designed to support advanced research across critical technology domains.

The release also mentioned that the lab will link Micron researchers with external experts and research partners to accelerate the path from scientific discovery to real-world impact. The investment builds on Micron’s previously announced plans to invest more than $250 billion in manufacturing and research and development in the U.S. that will create more than 90,000 American jobs and reinforce American leadership in memory and advanced manufacturing for years to come, the release said.
Earlier, in June, Micron Technology briefly surpassed Meta Platforms in market value. The company has reportedly emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the global race to build artificial intelligence infrastructure. While much investor attention has focused on graphics processing units and AI accelerators, memory chips have become increasingly critical as companies deploy larger and more sophisticated AI models.
