Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Aditya Chopra have been blessed with a baby girl, and they have her Adira, on Wednesday morning at Breach Candy Hospital, in Mumbai.
Mukerji described the baby girl as “god’s greatest giftâ€.
Adira is an amalgam of Aditya’s and Rani’s names.
The happy news was first announced by Aditya’s younger brother Uday on Twitter; “IT’S A GIRL!!!!!”; while the couple’s close friend and filmmaker Karan Johar shared: “Am an uncle to a beautiful baby girl today!!!!! @udaychopra !!! Rani and Adi had a baby girl!!”
The actress thanked her fans, friends and well-wishers for their “unconditional support and blessings†in a statement.
“Today life has given us god’s greatest gift with Adira. We thank fans our friends and well-wishers for their unconditional support and blessings. With joy we begin this new chapter in our lives,” Rani said in a statement issued by Aditya’s production banner Yash Raj Films.
The 37-year-old actress Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Yash Chopra’s son Aditya Chopra, who had been in a relationship, married in April 2014, in Italy.
