Excelerate Energy, Inc. announced the appointment of Nisha Biswal to its board of directors, the company said Tuesday. In her role, which is effective Jan. 21, Biswal will serve on the Audit and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees.
The University of Virginia alum brings more than three decades of leadership experience in international affairs and public policy to the company’s board. Biswal served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Financial Corporation (DFC), overseeing the operations and strategy for a $60 billion government corporation financing private-sector-led global projects in energy, infrastructure, health, agriculture, and financial inclusion.

“It has been an honor to serve in the Biden-Harris Administration alongside DFC CEO Scott Nathan to help build a world class development finance institution,” Biswal took to LinkedIn to share her thoughts as her tenure at the DFC ended.
“In my travels around the world I have seen first hand how DFC financing is improving lives, building critical infrastructure, advancing health and food security and empowering entrepreneurs,” she added.
Previously, Biswal has served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs and Assistant Administrator for Asia at the U.S. Agency for International Development as well as on various Congressional Committee staff.

Prior to joining DFC, Biswal was senior vice president for international strategy and global initiatives at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and led the U.S. India Business Council and the U.S. Bangladesh Business Council.
