AI continues to reshape industries across the board, one of its most promising frontiers is how businesses handle customer service. From long hold times to clunky automated systems, support experiences are poised for a major transformation – with AI voice agents stepping in to the market.
Berlin-based Synthflow AI has raised $20 million in Series A funding to accelerate the next phase of enterprise adoption for AI-powered voice agents. The company shared the news in a press release on June 25. The round was led by Accel, with continued support from existing backers Atlantic Labs and Singular.
With this amount, the company’s total funding stands at $30 million. Synthflow would use the capital to expand globally, open a U.S. office, and further develop its AI voice agent platform designed to automate phone calls.
“For contact centers and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies that dominate the $159B US customer service market, this shift presents a major growth opportunity, driven by always-on voice agents that deliver natural conversations”, said the company.

Synthflow AI was founded in 2023 by Armenian-born serial entrepreneurs Albert Astabatsyan, Hakob Astabatsyan, and Sassun Mirzakhan-Saky. Having previously collaborated on AI-driven software ventures, the trio launched Synthflow to tackle what they saw as a key roadblock in voice automation: the disconnect between advanced technical capabilities and real-world business usability.
This startup intends to make voice AI accessible not just to tech giants, but also to mid-market enterprises that often lack the resources for complex implementations. In this regard, Synthflow is designed for non-technical users, with zero code, handling everything from simple inquiries to complex workflows that includes customer support, appointment scheduling, inbound lead qualification, AI-to-human call transfers, and collecting and sharing real-time information at scale.
“With over 200 integrations across calendars, CRMs and telephony systems, Synthflow AI can be implemented rapidly and cost effectively, a contrast to the typical six-month onboarding required by legacy vendors”, the company stated.
Synthflow AI has expanded its R&D team to further boost product performance and has rapidly scaled to integrate with BPO providers and contact centers worldwide ever since its seed round in 2024. In addition, the voice AI venture intends to expand in other sectors as well- healthcare, financial services, education and more.
“Businesses and their customers are becoming increasingly comfortable communicating with AI agents. Our mission at Synthflow AI is to make high-quality, low-cost AI voice agents more accessible to improve customer services everywhere,” said Hakob Astabatsyan, co-founder and CEO of Synthflow AI.
