Trump Media & Technology Group has pitched a premium data service that would charge Wall Street firms as much as $100,000 a month for near-instant access to President Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts, according to a Reuters report citing the Financial Times. The proposal has sparked fresh scrutiny over the commercial value of presidential communications and potential ethical concerns surrounding the venture.
The proposed service, called Truth API, is designed to give subscribers a speed advantage by delivering posts from President Donald Trump and other influential Truth Social accounts milliseconds faster than the general public. The Financial Times reported that the service is scheduled to launch on Aug. 1 and would initially provide access to posts from the platform’s 10 most-followed accounts, along with an archive dating back to 2022.
Reuters said the company has discussed charging up to $100,000 per month, with a discounted price of about $60,000 monthly for customers willing to commit to a three-year contract.

Trump’s social media posts have repeatedly moved financial markets during both his first and second terms. Statements on tariffs, trade policy, military action and specific companies have triggered sharp movements in stock indexes, commodities and individual shares, making rapid access to those posts valuable for traders and hedge funds seeking a competitive edge. The Financial Times reported that Trump Media’s sales presentation highlighted several examples where the president’s online comments significantly influenced market prices.
The proposal represents an effort by Trump Media to diversify its revenue beyond advertising and subscriptions. Truth Social, launched after Trump was removed from major social media platforms following the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack, has sought to expand into financial services, streaming and digital infrastructure. A premium data licensing business would place the company in competition with established financial information providers that sell low-latency news feeds to institutional investors.

The plan has drawn criticism from Democratic lawmakers and ethics advocates. According to Reuters, Senators Ron Wyden and Elizabeth Warren questioned whether a business tied to the president should profit by selling early access to information that could influence markets. Critics argue that such a model raises concerns about fairness and conflicts of interest, given Trump’s financial stake in Trump Media through the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust.
Trump Media has defended the initiative as a legitimate commercial product. Reuters reported that the company said it has already secured customers for the service, signaling confidence that institutional investors see value in faster access to market-moving information. The company has not publicly identified those clients
If launched as planned, Truth API would mark one of the most ambitious attempts to monetize a sitting president’s social media presence. This highlights the growing influence of digital platforms on financial markets and the increasing commercial value of real-time political information.
