Dash, a new AI startup backed by Y Combinator, has officially launched to improve workflow efficiency with its AI agent offering. Also referred to as “ChatGPT with hands,” this agent introduces a “new way to work” by connecting to Gmail, Notion, Slack, and other productivity applications to complete work autonomously.
Dash allows users to build powerful automation sequences that connect their favorite tools and streamline daily tasks. Users can set up intelligent triggers that automatically execute workflows based on events across connected apps. They can also easily find information across apps, with Dash’s AI-powered search capabilities.
Dash also states that it prioritizes users’ security and privacy, safeguarding app connections, and upholding strict data protection standards.

Founded by Pranjali Awasthi, Dhruv Roongta and Harsha Gaddipati, Dash claims that knowledge workers spend 90% of their time on manual, repetitive tasks that can be automated by its platform.
While AI tools like ChatGPT can help with those, they are limited by the fact they operate in isolation. They are unable to update Notion databases, search across Slack, or send emails. Dash aims to solve this problem by connecting these tools and enabling autonomous work.
Dash offers several ready-to-build automation use cases built by the community. Some of these include “sales research before meetings,” “sprint planning,” “finding contact information from LinkedIn,” “overnight updates,” “daily news,” “sales data analysis,” and “proposal generation.” Its features include natural language structured execution, human-in-the-loop option, security-centric design, and cross app context.

Interestingly, cofounder Awasthi happens to be just 18 years old. She had reportedly started coding at the age of 7, interned at research labs at 13, and launched her own AI startup, Delv.AI at 16. The startup hit a valuation of $12 million within a year.
Gaddipati has graduated with a computer science degree from Georgia Tech, and previously worked at AWS. He also has a paper published on Space Policy.
Roongta has previously interned at Groq, Pulse (YC S24), and Greptile (YC W24). He also won several prizes at CalHacks and HackMIT.
