Resale ticket prices for the FIFA World Cup 2026 third-place play-off have surged more than 31 percent in just three days after the tournament’s semi-final picture became clear, reflecting strong demand from fans eager to watch one of the competition’s final matches.
According to ticket comparison platform SeatPick, the average resale ticket price for the match at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami has climbed to $2,313, up from $1,760 three days earlier, an increase of 31.4 percent.
The third-place play-off will feature the losers of the tournament’s two semi-finals: France or Spain from Match 101 and England or Argentina from Match 102.

The increase was consistent across the resale market. The cheapest available ticket rose from $841 to $1,106, while the most expensive listing climbed from $23,804 to $31,278. The number of tickets listed for resale also increased from 4,223 to 5,549 during the same period.
Although the third-place play-off has traditionally attracted less attention than the World Cup final, this year’s pricing trend suggests supporters are keen to attend one final match after
“It’s rare to see this much heat in the resale market for a third-place play-off, but the surge over the past three days shows fans want to be part of the World Cup right to the very end, even in a fixture that’s traditionally been an afterthought,” said Gilad Zilberman, co-founder of SeatPick.
“We’ve noticed that ticket markets tend to move quickly once a bracket is confirmed, with prices spiking when a big name advances and dropping when a popular team is eliminated. Fans are getting in early, making sure they secure a place just in case their team doesn’t make it to a final. While bargain hunters are keen to catch one of the last games without the price tag of the final,” he added.

Despite the sharp increase, the third-place play-off remains significantly more affordable than the World Cup final. SeatPick said the average resale ticket for the third-place match costs roughly one-fifth of the average final ticket, while the highest-priced listing is about one-sixth of the top resale price for the championship match.
The latest figures underscore continued demand for FIFA World Cup tickets, even for matches that have historically drawn lower attendance and lower resale values than the tournament final.
SeatPick said the data is based on listings available on July 14 across major resale platforms, including StubHub, Viagogo, LiveFootballTickets and Vivid Seats. Ticket prices and availability remain subject to change as the tournament progresses.
